The feminine is undoubtedly rising. In women’s marches and in businesses and in our hearts.
But … how can we truly serve this, tap into this, embody this luscious, nurturing force ….when, often times, our everyday lives feel so very chaotic and uncertain?
And … where do we stuff this feminine strength when we’re clicking through our inboxes, surrounded by gluten-free cookie crumbs, ignoring yet another reminder to meditate because we’ve got a deadline?
What does taking exquisitely good care of ourselves actually mean, in the utterly messy and demanding lives we lead? Surely it’s not about beating ourselves up when we sleep in instead of doing morning yoga. But … there’s something to be said for sticking up for what matters most, right?
As women, we often take care of everyone else before ourselves. Our clients, our children, our partners, our sisters, our neighbors.
The answer isn’t giving up on our self-care practices. And it’s also not jetting away to paradise for a month-long meditation retreat.
(OK, that second one sounds great … but most of us don’t have that kind of time. Or money.)
If we want to bring our best selves to our daily lives … we MUST learn to carve out small, meaningful spaces for silence, spiritual practice, and self-care, right in the thick of our daily lives.
One sacred moment in the morning, on the edge of the bed, to put our mind in our hearts before the kids and our Facebook feed whisk us away.
A tiny pause before eating to connect to gratitude.
An hour each weekend for a walk in nature.
This is how we reconnect with The Feminine and bring Her wisdom into our lives. With regular, rhythmic returns to our inner world.
Back to silence.
Back to what matters most.
Back to our bodies. To our pleasure.
To our hearts.
To our SHE.
