Why You Need to be More Like a Man

“I am not afraid…I am born to do this.” – Joan of Arc

Over the past couple of years I had a supersize serving of sleepless nights, mornings when I didn’t want to get out of bed, and, if I’m to be brutally honest, moments when I didn’t even want to keep living.

Yet, no matter how dark and deep the circles were under my eyes, no matter how much my heart hurt, or how bone-tired I felt, I knew I had to keep going.

My dog needed her morning walk. I had clients calls all afternoon. My team awaited their marching orders. But, above all, I sensed, deep down, the relentless conviction that I was destined for more. Even though I felt I had lost so much, I still had (so many!) dreams awaiting their time in the sun.

So, no matter what I was feeling, no matter how worthless some of my thoughts wanted me to believe I was, I doubled down on my commitment to my dreams and continued to put one foot in front of the other, moving steadfastly in their direction.

I trained myself to become unstoppable.

On days that felt especially tough, I thought of legends like Michael Jordan, An Sang Suchi , or Nelson Mandela and how they undoubtedly suffered through countless days of strife on their way to greatness. (And, when I say greatness, I don’t mean blockbuster success. I mean greatness of the human spirit.)

Sure, they had talent. But becoming unstoppable in life takes more than talent. It takes conviction, tenacity, and the relentless pursuit of one’s dreams. It takes showing up through all the moments when you don’t feel like it.

In the wake of Harvey Weinstein (et al), I know it’s not fashionable for me to say this. But I have to.

For us women, becoming unstoppable in life takes being more like a man.

Yes, I did just say that. I had to, because I love you and want you to live your best life.

That’s why, today in our podcast series, “Disrupting the Divine Feminine,” I’m dishing out:

If you have the liberty to be reading these words right now, then the biggest thing holding you back is not outside of you. It’s not your boss, your bank account, your childhood, your lover, your kids. It’s you.

YOU are what’s holding you back. YOU– and specifically your own thoughts and feelings–are what keep getting in your way.

Now that we’re being honest with ourselves, wouldn’t it be wise to cultivate the tools to STOP doing this? Wouldn’t it be wise to learn to be bigger than your thoughts? Bigger than your feelings? Greater than the sensations in your body and circumstances in your life?

In today’s SHE Talk, I share:

  • How Martin Luther King Jr. (whom we’re honoring here in the U.S. today) exemplifies key qualities of the Divine Masculine for us to emulate
  • Why you need to get clear on the differences between the “shadow” masculine (ahem- the patriarchy!) and the Divine Masculine within yourself
  • What the greatest women in history all have in common (it’s not what you think)
  • Ways that you can start training to become unstoppable in your life…today

This was a fun one for me to create!

Why wait another moment to start RISING to meet the greatest expression of yourself?

The episodes in this “Disrupting the Divine Feminine” podcast series are just a small taste of a much larger dose of truth I’m offering this year in my signature, 9-month spiritual leadership & lifestyle immersion, The SHE School.

The SHE School 2018 is the fullest expression of my teachings on the Heroine’s Journey and the daily practices required for women to step into greatness at this time in history.

If you feel on the verge of a new chapter of your self-expression, spiritual power, and sacred self-care …

If you’re craving kindred sisterhood, within a strong container of support and accountability…

If you’re ready to stop getting in your own way…

The SHE School 2018 would love to welcome you.

Plus, this year we have something new: The SHE Leadership Circle.

To honor those women who are ready for something more this year, I’m offering an “upper tier/mastermind” to the SHE School called The SHE Leadership Circle– a laboratory to practice what I call “Women’s Spiritual Leadership” (medicine the world greatly needs right now).

This is for women who want to work closely with me and are committed to translating the breakthroughs from their inner worlds into all areas of their lives– most especially their careers, creativity, finances, and impact in the world.

(The SHE Leadership Circle is limited to 20 women, by application only. We’re now 25% full!)

Here’s to putting the practices, structures, and mindsets in place to becoming unstoppable in realizing your dreams this year!

Hello, beautiful. I’m Sara: a teacher of feminine spiritual and empowerment, author, and founder of The Way of the Happy Woman. I’m also the leader of The SHE School and the SHE Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training. Here’s the truth: I don’t want to be your guru. But I am wholeheartedly devoted to guiding women back to their own, inner wisdom, through feminine spiritual practices, yoga, meditation, and a whole lotta love (and guts). This work is my truest calling and greatest joy. I’m so happy to have the chance to share it with you.
