Re-Wilding Feminine Leadership

Last week I had brunch with one of my girlfriends. Between bites of eggs, greens, and hashbrowns, we spoke about some pretty deep stuff.

“I’ve been doing women’s work for twenty years,” I told her, “and I’m noticing things that I’ve never noticed before.”

“That’s powerful,” she replied, “Like what?”

“It’s like Sleeping Beauty,” I explained, “I’m seeing that the feminine– and women-at-large– have been asleep for a long time. I got this theoretically before, but now I get it in my bones. It’s like we were put into a trance, forgetting who we are at a very deep level. The spell is starting to break. In a really big way.”

Enough of us are waking up now that we’re starting to see the widespread erasure of undomesticated women from religion, myth, and positions of power.

As the lies that we’ve been taught to live crumble, we don’t have historical references to look to to remind us of who we once were.

The only place we can look is in our own hearts and bodies. Buried deep in our subconscious, the seats of souls, lives the memories of who we truly are.

In today’s Poolside Sutra, I explore this in more depth.

POOLSIDE SUTRA #2:

RE-WILDING FEMININE LEADERSHIP

Today’s talk is an excerpt from a Q & A session I held mid-way through the recent SHE Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training in Thailand.

In it, we will explore:

  • How to live from a multi-sensory place
  • My favorite bedtime ritual for clearing energy
  • Creative ways women can meditate
  • The flavor of the feminine that’s being birthed through all of us right now
  • Using your intuition to grow your business
  • The number one thing that holds us all back
  • And more.

Sleeping Beauty’s spell lives even in the yoga & meditation world. Yes, the Patriarchy also dominates our spiritual lives!

While upwards of 90% of yoga classes are all female, it’s astonishingly rare to find teachings on how women can engage with their own, personalized spiritual practices in ways that awaken and empower the intrinsic wisdom within feminine bodies, hearts, and souls.

What makes you a woman isn’t a nuisance to override through your practice.

We need to learn how to reunite with our sensual, body-based wisdom. And, to make this a lifelong endeavor, we deserve practices that we enjoy returning to, day after day.

This approach of “unlearning” is what I advocate in our SHE Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training. The next training will take place in Tulum, Mexico from December 1-8, 2018.

“This retreat has been profoundly healing & deeply insightful in every way. I’ve literally gone from darkness to light. I was on the brink of dawn. This program led me into it.

It’s absolutely essential for all women to come together like this for deep practice for the betterment of the world. And the best benefit is the profound inner peace it engenders.”

At the end of this training, each woman will leave with a renewed trust in her inner, spiritual authority– and with all the tools she needs to help the women in her community to do the same.

I invite you to come explore all the details of this retreat-like intensive here.

While this training isn’t until December, registration is only open for another couple of weeks.

SARA AVANT STOVER

Hello, beautiful. I’m Sara: a teacher of feminine spiritual and empowerment, author, and founder of The Way of the Happy Woman. I’m also the leader of The SHE School and the SHE Yoga & Meditation Teacher Training. Here’s the truth: I don’t want to be your guru. But I am wholeheartedly devoted to guiding women back to their own, inner wisdom, through feminine spiritual practices, yoga, meditation, and a whole lotta love (and guts). This work is my truest calling and greatest joy. I’m so happy to have the chance to share it with you.
