Pajamas at Noon

pajamaspajamas1

Hello lovelies.

As many of you know, I spent the weekend moving and settling into my new home. It went well, by the way. Thanks to all of you for your support!

There was lots of lifting, unpacking, and organizing involved–and in these situations I get a little OCD. I can’t stop until everything is where it should be. We’re almost there…

So today I’m tired today. My feet hurt; my muscles ache. It’s almost noon and I’m still in my pajamas, about to settle onto my yoga mat for some yin yoga. Feels sort of like Sunday, only, it’s …not.

And as moving is such a great time to clear out the old and make way for the new, I’m looking at myself and realizing that I could use some new PJs. So, I’m wondering if you have any recommendations for places to shop for some cute ones?

Pajamas are truly some of my most favorite things.

Do you wear pajamas? If so, thanks for sharing your tips!

P.S. In Asia, it’s not uncommon to wear your pajamas out-and-about. Maybe I’ll start a new custom here in the U.S. Who’s in?

Merci for your comment on my blog re: home practice. :)

To answer your question, i often stay in my PJ’s until noon, or all day if I can get away with it! Unfortunately i’m not so good at having “PJs” – mine consist of boxer shorts, tanks/oversized tees, and in the winter, a huge hoodie. :)

if i work from home, i stay in my pj’s all day (and have been known to wear them on morning walks and to the mailbox). but i tend to wear running or yoga clothes or sweats and t-shirts/sweatshirts .. so i figure no one can tell. ;)

i’m glad your move went well!

ok, i’m glad i’m not the only one who wears her pj’s for as long as possible during the day. i guess that’s one of the many boons of being self-employed!

    hi sara

well cecilia and i both wear pajamas. and at the moment we both have what my mom always called “shorties-” matching tank and short sets for sleeping. i used to be able to get new shorties if i had a clumber party!

but i recently learned of this site http://www.intlprincess.org, which is an amazing organization that takes women who were forced into prostitution off the street… to make pajamas (i thought of you) they are called “punjammies”. when i teach the post-partum recovery; celebrating sacred feminity workshops, i was thinking of collaborating with them, because you can host “punjammie parties” to raise awareness and get great pajamas.

    love kimberly

  5. I wear pajamas about 90% of the time – I used to work at a place where they were very laid back and we’d have pajama day once a month. I just moved to NYC – and found a very cool pajama store that I must got to ASAP – I’ll let you know if I find anything good!

wow, that’s a really cool place to work! let me know about that store in NYC…

hmmm, shorties. i’ve never heard that term. i think it’s the vata in me though that likes to have all of my arms and legs covered (and i have to sleep with a heavy cover, too, even when it’s warm out). i will check out that site–sounds so wonderful. sofia diaz always talks about having a women’s retreat that’s one big slumber party….

    sara,
the very very best place for pajama pants is anthropologie–beautiful fabrics, great design with wide legs…i think you would love them as much as i do!
thanks so much for your wonderful blog!
    namaste friend,

thanks, krista. there is an anthropologie here in boulder, and, come to think of it, i bought one of my *most* favorite pairs of pajamas there several years ago. i’ll take a look!
    love,
    sara
